My name is Brandon Troutman and I was born in Duncan, Oklahoma. We moved to Flower Mound when I was in the 5th grade and I eventually went to Flower Mound High School. I lettered in basketball for three years, as well as starting for all three years. I was team captain my junior and senior years. My junior year I was named Offensive Player of the Year in District 6-5A, and I was named to the TABC All-Region team for Region 1-5A. My senior year I was named First Team All-District for District 6-5A, and then I was again named to the All-Region team. I graduated in 2008, and I am currently attending Oklahoma Christian University where I am a member of the Varsity basketball team. I am studying to receive my major in Physical Education with a minor in Math. I plan on becoming a high school basketball coach once I finish out my eligibility as a basketball player.
I first started working out with Deon when I was in the 7th grade, and I worked out with him at some point during the year from then on until I graduated high school. Deon was a huge part of the success that I have had on the basketball court; not only with my physical skills, but mentally he helped give me the confidence that I needed to build around and really become a good basketball player. He has helped me to also become a much better overall person and to really respect the game and the people involved with it. I look to teach kids with the same passion and love for the game, as well as the same passion for God that Deon has shown me throughout the years.
WHAT DEON HAS TO SAY ABOUT BRANDON
Brandon is an example of what every parent should want their kids to grow up to be. He has a tremendous passion for the game and loves the Lord. He worked very hard throughout his young education & athletic career developing his skills and competitiveness. He’s a disciplined person who knows that you don’t have to be a super star to be a star. He’s one of the best shooters and all-around players that Hoop Hunter Basketball has ever had come through our program. Brandon likes to work with boys as young as 1st grade through 9th. Brandon knows and understands what it takes to achieve success. Brandon has chosen to spend his summer working and training with Hoop Hunter Basketball and will return to school in August. So, for all of you young basketball players, don’t miss out on working with another Hoop Hunter.
