Private Workouts
We offer 4, 8 and 12 week sessions. We offer 30 minute or 1 hour workouts for boys and girls year round. Initially we visit with the family or coach to discuss the needs of the player. If parents aren’t certain of the areas players need help, an evaluation is recommended. All evaluations are 1 hour and include a 30 minute verbal assessment. The purpose of private workouts are; to eliminate doubt and gain confidence, develop solid sustainable work habits, enhance the fundamental skills needed to play competitive, improve on strengths and build on weaknesses, increase a player’s knowledge of the game, help players learn new positions and learn the concepts of the game. We hold players accountable by recommending that they keep a weekly journal of daily practices and game performances.
Group Workouts
We offer 4, 8 and 12 week sessions. We offer 1 to 2 hour sessions for boys and girls year round. We prefer to work with even numbers such as 2, 4 & 6 players at a time. During this program, we ask that players be of equal skill levels and prefer 2 guards and 2 post or all guard and all post. Group sessions work better for the group when the overall needs of the group are the same or similar. Players who participate in group events usually have good fundamental skills and understand how to play. Players who wish to participate in group workouts but have poor fundamental skills and lack an understanding of the game are asked to take individual workouts before joining a group (we don’t want players holding others back). Players must form their own groups of 2, 4 or 6 players. HHB will not place players in groups! During group workouts, additional focus is placed on enhanced skills and play through a combination of drills, concepts taught and light competitive play.
Team Play
Team play is a 2 hour controlled scrimmage. Players who participate in this event come as individuals and are not a part of a team. They also want tips and pointers during the course of the scrimmage. Prior to and during each workout, players are encouraged to shoot, handle the ball, communicate, develop better leadership skills and are given the opportunity to work on areas of their game that needs improvement. Players who are transitioning from one position to another are allowed an opportunity to play multiple positions without compromising the scrimmage. This is a wonderful event which has been very successful for years. Players who join this event and aren’t able to keep up with the level of competition are asked to join a group program. Team play is offered to 7th-12th grade players and college players. This program is offered from 8 to 10 weeks at various times throughout the year.
