Future Hoop Stars Training (8-weeks)
4th & 5th Grade Boys & Girls

Join Deon Hunter during this incredible and inspiring 8-week program designed and developed for young players who have an interest in learning how to play the game of basketball correctly with positive re-enforcement.

Future Hoop Stars is a newly created program designed and developed to lay the ground-work for playing basketball successfully. Participants in this program can expect a wide range of necessary skills to be taught that will have a profound impact on the way that they feel about themselves and their ability to someday play basketball with a passion. Throughout this program players learn to be more responsible, disciplined and obedient.

Players who are interested in playing basketball but need to sure up the skills needed to perform at a meaningful and confident level of play need to give this program a try. Deon continues to be inspiring as he teaches and demonstrates with a loving heart!

We encourage each of you to evaluate what the needs of your children are before joining any of our programs. We also ask that you pray about it first. Our goal through this type of program is to further ignite your child’s interest and development in youth basketball as well as build a strong foundation with depth that will support your child’s performance in any sport and ultimately build confidence that will last a lifetime.

Things that will be taught:
Players will continue to work on dribbling with their head up and making good decisions, how to make left and right hand lay-ups, reverse lay-ups, proper shooting form, they will learn about knowing their range, mid-range shots, how to get open on the wing and square up, back door cuts, defensive slide vs run, 3 man weave, how to set screens and role, how to defend screens, free throws,1 on 1 and 2 on 1 drills, shooting free throws and blocking out at the free throw line.

“The Art of Shooting”
For 7th-12th Grade Boys and Girls
Presented By Coach Wendell Williams

Join Coach Williams as he teaches players how to shoot the ball effectively from various areas all over the court. Players will learn the principles of shooting, how to focus, how to practice without a partner, body posture & balance, Triple Threat, where to look when shooting, being a consistent shooter, quick trigger shooter, knowing your limits, moving without the ball, shot fakes, shooting with arch, shooter and buddy and much more.

Team Play - Deon Hunter’s “Serious Players Only”
Pre-Season Middle & High School Program

Join Deon as he prepares players for the upcoming basketball season. During this program players will get an opportunity to prepare mentally and physically for the middle and high school basketball season. Players will get an opportunity to work on areas of their game that need improvement in an atmosphere filled with thought provoking and motivational teaching methods. Players will get to work on the their offensive and defensive game, competitiveness, passing, running the floor, handling the ball, setting and reading screens, shooting off screens, moving without the ball, spacing, aggressiveness, confidence, rebounding and blocking out, develop team work habits, get in shape for the season and learn to play and remain focused when they become mentally fatigued. Players who can play multiple positions will be allowed to do so. Competitiveness, unselfish play and good sportsmanship are required.

Note: This program is for serious and experienced players only. Players must be able to compete competitively without holding up the progress of others.

"BLUE PRINTS" After School Program
For 2nd & 3rd Grade Boys and Girls

“BLUE PRINTS” is a year round after school program designed to give boys and girls an opportunity to develop an ongoing likeness and an early foundation for learning how to play basketball.

During this 1 hour program children will learn the fundamentals of basketball such as: warm-up drills, hand & eye coordination drills, stretching exercises, footwork drills, ball handling drills, defensive drills, communication drills, team work exercises, lay-up drills, hustling drills, practice exercises, passing drills, shooting fundamentals and group drills.

Twice a week players will enjoy a highly spirited environment while learning the skills needed to fully develop into a C4-type (Competitive Courageous Confident Christian) basketball player.

This program is taught in (4) eight week sessions. Players must participate in at least two sessions in order to be in the after school program.

Cost for 2 sessions: $500.00 per player
Cost for all 4 sessions: $900.00 per player

Player Skills Development Training
4th, 5th & 6th Grade
Boys & Girls

"PSDT” is an 8 week program specifically designed to help players further develop solid basketball fundamentals, work habits, self-confidence, sportsmanship, healthy mental attitude and the discipline needed to develop into a well-rounded athlete. This program will focus on teaching players the basic fundamentals of the game, basketball drills and skills that enhance a player’s knowledge and performance and offensive and defensive concepts that will no doubt help each player improve.

Message from Deon: “This program is designed to help players further develop the necessary basic fundamentals needed to successfully play the game of basketball. Failure isn’t an option!"

Areas of focus:

  • Ball Handling (cross over, between the legs, around the back, hesitation, reverse pivot and retreat dribble)
  • Passing (chest, bounce, overhead, baseball, post entry pass angle, ball advancement)
  • Shooting (fundamentals of shooting, free throws, mid-range shots, bank shots)
  • Offense (getting open and squaring up, moving without the ball)
  • Defense (defensive slide vs. run)
  • Rebounding (offensive and defensive)
  • Blocking Out (techniques)
  • Lay-ups
  • Pivots
  • 1 on 1 Play (possibly 2 on 2 play)

Cost per each 8 week session: $280.00
Cost for all four 8 week sessions: $1000.00

Thursdays Each Week Beginning September 2nd, 2010

Practice Time: 4:30pm - 6:00pm

Our facility is located at Dunham Road. Dunham Road is located at the southeast corner of the intersections of Highway 377 and FM 1171 (Cross Timber) in the Flower Mound area. Once on Dunham, come down about a half-mile and we are on the right side of the road. There’s a visitor’s parking lot at the end of the long driveway, and the gym is at the back of the property.
