My name is Rebekah Beard and I am originally from Canton, Ohio. I have been playing basketball since the 7th grade. My love for the game actually started at my church, as my coach was also my pastor. My family moved to Texas my junior year of high school and I played basketball here for Grapevine High School. I attended Covenant College in Georgia and played ball there for two years, and then was a student assistant my last two. I graduated from Covenant in 2004 with a degree in early childhood education. Currently I teach and coach at Carroll Middle School and am always excited for the beginning of the season. I love coaching and seeing youth apply lessons of the game to life. Sports are such a huge part of many of our lives and the lessons and friendships formed from it are life long.

My other passion is summer camps for inner-city youth. For the past seven years I have worked with two camps where our goal and outreach is using athletics as a platform to share the gospel with children. I love this game. God has used it in my life in a huge way to teach me lessons and allow me to share with others. I believe that there is so much about life that you can learn about by playing. I hope that God will allow me to coach this game for many years to come. Seeing youth see their hard work pay off as they have fun playing basketball.

Rebekah joins HHB/BBI with experience! First of all, she loves the Lord and she’s not afraid to share it with the world. She has a very positive, contagious attitude. She is a 5th year school teacher, coach and ex- high school and college basketball player. During the summer months, she enjoys traveling and working with inner-city kids.
