My name is JB Mlambo and I was born in Indiana and moved to Grapevine, where I currently live, when I was 3 years old. I played varsity basketball my junior and senior year at Grapevine High School, contributing with above average shooting abilities.

After my graduation in 2012 I went on to play at a basketball academy in Barcelona, Spain. I trained with pro basketball players from around the world.

From there I was recruited to play at a basketball academy in Ireland called N.A.B.A (North Atlantic Basketball Academy). I was brought on to a professional basketball team in Ireland; the Premier Basketball League (Top pro men’s basketball league) and joined a team called Templeogue Basketball Club. I went on to play with them in the first of the 2014/2015 basketball season.

Now I am back in the states and look forward to coaching a club team.  This will be my first season coaching with Hoop Hunter and I’m very grateful and excited for the opportunity to be able to coach a great group of young talented kids and share with them my knowledge of the game that I’ve learned so far in my basketball career and work hard in helping them develop their skills into better basketball players and teammates.

What deon says...

JB is the real deal. He’s a very hard working passionate basketball enthusiast. His love for teaching kids the game is equal to his passion for the game.

JB is good at identifying weaknesses in players and then building those areas up so that the player can become stronger and well equip to compete at any level. His natural position is point guard but more importantly, he understands the game and how to develop players who play multiple positions.

So, if you want to work on ball handling, shooting, speed and quickness, on and/or off the ball defense or simply want help with the mental aspect of the game, JB can help you become an overall better basketball player.
