Basketball Essentials

(Basic Fundamental Skills, Concepts of the Game, & Live Play)

3- Week Special Event

 

Who: 3rd-5th Grade (boys and girls)

Dates: Saturday, Oct. 26th, Nov. 2nd and 9th

Time: 3:00pm-4:30pm

$50 per session

During these special 3-week events, players will be quickly evaluated and taught the fundamental skills needed to play basketball. Players will then learn how to incorporate those skills into some core concepts of playing basketball. Players will then learn a basic offensive scheme and will be taught how to incorporate everything they’ve learned into structured live play, under the direction of the trainer/coach. Our trainers will do everything they can to teach, motivate, encourage, inspire and praise all players.

What will be taught?

Dribbling, Passing, Shooting, Defense, Rebound, Blocking Out, Communicating, Moving Without the Ball, Shell Defense, Seeing Ball-Man, Moving without The Ball, Setting, Reading & Using On & Off Ball Screens, Cutting, Spacing and Etc.…

· 2 v 1 & 3 v 2 Offensive & Defensive Principles and Drills (variety)

· 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3 up to 5 on 5 Play Principles.

· Live Play

(Basic Fundamental Skills, Concepts of the Game, & Live Play)

3- Week Special Event

Who: 6th-8th Grade (boys and girls)

Dates: Sundays, Oct. 27th, Nov. 3rd and 10th

Time: 1:00pm-2:30pm

$50 per session

During these 3-week special events, players will be taught skills as they go through some basic and elevated but fundamentally sound drills needed to learn how to play basketball successfully. Players will then focus on offensive and defensive concepts of the game. After those two things are accomplished, players will learn how to incorporate the skills and concepts of the game into a structured and controlled live play scrimmage. Our trainers will do everything they can to teach, motivate, encourage, inspire and praise all players.

What will be taught?

Drills (ball handling with & without pressure, passing, shooting, rebounding, defensive, offensive, rebounding, communication, moving without the ball, spacing, setting, reading & using on & off ball screens, cutting, attacking the basket and more)

2 v 2 Pick and Roll, 5 v 4 v 3 v 2 v 1 (transition drill), 3 v 3 on and off the ball offensive and defensive half court principles and concepts of basketball

Offensive and Defensive Live Play Principles & Scrimmage

Players who might have a limited about of experience may participate but must realize that we will do everything we can to help you learn how to play basketball from these special events, but we highly recommend that you participate in each of the 3 week events, so that you can catch up and become better familiar with the 3-phrase process (skills, concepts of the game and play). We also welcome coaches with teams to participate in these special events as well.
